Managing Invasive Species

Class attendees will gain an understating of how both invasive species and humans have disrupted established natural ecosystems. Zoos are playing a crucial role to combat these issues and to reintroduce native species to these habitats, and in particular, this is an important mission for the Detroit Zoological Society.

About the Presenter:  Bethany is a Senior Education Specialist at the Detroit Zoo where she leads teen and community program focused on conservation, climate change and environmental justice. Bethany graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s of science in wildlife biology and from the University of Miami-Ohio with a master’s of arts in biology.
